BITBOX Update end of 2025
In the Final 2025 update, the Bosch MEDC17 Bench (SM2/SM3 ONLY) module has been expanded to include support for 10 Bosch ECUs used on both petrol and diesel engines across multiple vehicle brands. This update focuses on completing the ECU list within the BSM BENCH group, enabling technicians to identify supported ECUs more accurately and carry out bench operations more efficiently.
Newly Added Bosch ECUs
The following ECUs have now been officially listed and supported in the Bosch MEDC17 Bench module:
- Bosch MEG17.9.12
- Bosch MEG17.9.13
- Bosch MEG17.9.21
- Bosch MEG17.9.8
- Bosch ME17.0.3
- Bosch M17.9.11
- Bosch ME17.9.11
- Bosch MED17.0.7
- Bosch EDC17C60
- Bosch EDC17C79
These ECUs are widely used across various vehicle platforms, including passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, with both petrol and diesel powertrains.
Technical Significance of the Update
Previously, these ECUs were already supported through other BitBox modules, but they were not directly listed in the BSM BENCH module. Their official inclusion brings several clear technical benefits:
- Standardization of the ECU list within Bosch MEDC17 Bench
- Reduced confusion when selecting the appropriate working module
- Improved safety and consistency during bench operations
- Faster ECU identification and workflow optimization for ECU technicians
Current Coverage of Bosch MEDC17 Bench
With this update, the Bosch MEDC17 Bench module now supports a total of 141 ECU types. This represents a very broad coverage, effectively meeting the requirements for:
- ECU bench programming
- ECU repair when OBD access is unavailable
- ECU recovery
- ECU cloning and off-vehicle data operations
This update further strengthens the Bosch MEDC17 Bench module as a comprehensive and reliable solution for professional ECU bench work.
