Technical description

PM sensor regeneration trouble is detected from the self diagnosis function of the PM sensor.

Failure of the PM sensor is detected.

PM sensor is active.
Battery power supply voltage is in the range of 10 V to 16 V.
Starter switch remains ON (does not active for starter) for more than 5 seconds.

Abnormal is detected by the error diagnosis from PM sensor.

After normal operation is restored and the starter switch is turned LOCK.

MIL: ON

Symptoms on the vehicle due to backup control (fail safe function)

Overlooking of the DPF damage

Check that the battery voltage is in the normal range

Troubleshooting steps

Step 1: Check the DTC detected (Engine ECU) [Diagnostic Tool]

Has a DTC other than P24D1 been detected?

Yes	Go to the diagnostic procedure of a related DTC.
No	Go to Step 2.

Step 2: Inspect the DPR filter

Remove the DPR filter and check if there is no soot, damages or other abnormalities at its end.
Insert the check probe from the rear surface to inspect the inside.
Check probe inserting depth.

175 – 185 mm {6.890 – 7.283 in.}

Were any failures found?

Yes	Replace the DPR filter and the PM sensor. Clear all past DTCs. Check that no DTC is detected after test drive.
No	Replace the PM sensor. Clear all past DTCs and then procedure completed. Check that no DTC is detected after test drive.
